"Learn to appreciate difficult days."
That was the first sentence in my Jesus Calling Devotional today.
Jesus knew I would need to read that today--the day of all difficult days.
Scale of 1-10, my body feels like a horrible 9.
But I am not here to focus on whatever disease is wrecking havoc on my outer shell of a body...a body that will one day wither away...
it's my soul that I am here to give attention to.
The soul that will live forever
for eternity
because of my Savior
the one that will someday never again feel the way I do today...
Yes, THAT soul.
"Be stimulated by the challenges you encounter along your way. As you journey through rough terrain with Me, gain confidence from your knowledge that together we can handle anything."
"The knowledge is comprised of three parts; your relationship with Me, promises in the Bible, and past experiences of coping successfully during difficult times. Look back on your life and see how I have helped you through difficult days. If you are tempted to think, 'Yes, but that was then, and this is now, remember who I AM!"
"Although you and your circumstances may change dramatically, I remain the same throughout time and eternity. This is the basis of your confidence."
What an amazing devotional
on an ordinary day
a day that I need His strength the most.
Each moment throughout Tim's brain injury and recovery
Each moment of financial struggle
Each sick moment throughout the first 4 years of Chelsea's life
Every moment throughout Gavin's 6 and a half years of life with 2 life-threatening diseases
with pain and weakness that sometimes makes it hard to even sit
He is there. He has always been there. He always will be. He got us through so much. He will get us through this.
I Praise Him for simply being HIM.
